Bioinformatics PhD Student
King's College London and The Alan Turing Institute
Creator of ResearcHers Code
I am a final year bioinformatics PhD student at King’s College London and The Alan Turing Institute funded by the BBSRC LIDo DTP. I use data science and develop bioinformatic tools to better understand the spread of antimicrobial resistance in microbial communities.
Alongside my PhD, I run a community and host a podcast called ResearcHers Code supporting women and/or non-binary in tech and research.
I love to build software, create new ideas and collaborate with others, which I endeavour to apply to my research. When I am not writing my thesis or running a community, you may find me at a meetup or hackathon!
I am currently on the lookout for academic or industry opportunities in biotech, bioinformatics and genomics. If you are hiring or know somebody who is hiring, contact me: victoria(dot)carr(at)kcl.ac.uk
